YOUR NEW WAY OF WEARING SHIRTS

IMG_4281 2

Soft Pink Shirt: H&M Men // Black Stripped Pants: Mango // Sunglasses: SCAPE // Shoes: Rubi // Earrings: Lovisa

Shirts would be a good idea when you wanna look formal in some days. But, wait, I’ve discovered a new way of wearing your shirt without losing your elegant look! This style was inspired by my best friend, Qin and I think that it’s something interesting to learn about. You ain’t gonna miss this, scroll this out Beauties!

For this outfit of the day, I decided to wear basic on the inside. To add more color, I matched with the oversized pink shirt that I grabbed from the men section at H&M Vivocity. How did I do it? Firstly, I buttoned up the two of my middle buttons. Then, I tied up my right sleeve to another end part of my shirt. So here we go… Look sassy with just a single shirt!

MONOCHROME WOULD NEVER GO WRONG

img_0355-e1523717089487.jpg

Black Long-sleeve: Cotton On // Blue-striped Pants: Uniqlo // Side-string White Outer: H&M // Bag: Marc Jacobs // White Sneakers: Pull&Bear // Earrings: Shopee

What do you guys like about weekends? I’d say I enjoy weekends the most when I have more time to mix and match my outfit and do my make up. For this outfit of the day, I decided to look entirely elegant which brought me to combine two colors: black and white. Starting with the inner part, I matched a black long-sleeve with blue-striped pants, while for the outer, I added with my favorite side-string outer.

Besides clothes, shoes may seem small but it is definitely something that builds up your look! Well, you might wear sandals when you go to the beach while you can’t wear sandals to match your gown. So, for this monochrome look, I added my white sneakers to look completely elegant.

“When in doubt, wear monochrome.”

OUTFIT FOR A LUNCH DATE

IMG_3365.JPG

Blue-striped shirt: Zara // Dress: Indonesia local brand (Rumah Mode Bandung, Indonesia) // Rustic Belt: The Executive // Clutch: VNC // Boots: Pull&Bear // Earrings: Lovisa

Honestly, it has been a busy week for me personally and I didn’t have a perfect time to post any blog recently. However, I believe that life is not only about attending school but also about spending time together with your loved ones. Hence, last Saturday, I managed to have a late lunch with my bestie at PS. Cafe, Orchard.

For outfit of the day, I was wearing a plain long white dress on the inside. The texture is thin which is completely suitable for summer. It was also layered with a blue-striped shirt and a brown belt. In addition, I added with my white bag to make it look more elegant and a headband to transform it to be like a European style. Definitely a not-so-winter look in a hot weather, especially in Singapore.

INTRODUCING MY SKIN PRODUCTS

Firstly, I used not to care about my skin, but ever since I met Jesslyn – my Independent Beauty Consultant – I realized that it is actually important to take a really good care of my skin. To be honest with you, my skin can be considered as dry-oily. The oiliest part is always in the midst of my forehead and my nose.

Well sadly my skin often looks shiny, not because of my highlighter but it is the oil of my face. My skin is kinda sensitive when it goes to skin care products. If the products are not suitable for my skin, it will soon become red and slowly it might peel off! Luckily, I don’t often deal with pimples, but I urge myself to have smooth skin that helps me with/out makeup! Do you want your face to shine? Here are the products that really helped my skin to be moisturized and to glow every day! Check it out!

Take note: These products are made using botanicals that make it suitable for sensitive skin and it really helps to keep your skin clean and even bring up your makeup look!

1. Botanical Effects Cleanse

A86015D0-62C9-42B2-A294-907E1EA1D259.JPG

If you often wear makeup, you gotta have a really good cleanser! This product is specially made to gently remove makeup and impurities! It is made of botanical substances that is definitely suitable for dry, normal, and also combination skin to keep your face clean from the remains of your makeup!

2. Botanical Effects Freshen

6419E418-7B71-4FEE-9306-A077121D6A7D.JPG

This is a very useful spray for you to apply before and after makeup. It is definitely important for me to assure that my makeup won’t crack during the day caused by your dry skin. Besides, this non-drying formula gently removes excess residue from skin. I usually spray it for 3-4 times to keep my skin hydrated, which then it becomes easier when I apply my foundation or concealer on! This is the secret on how you would moisturize your skin when you apply your makeup on! I’ve tried it and it really supports my makeup to keep it look #SLAY during all my photoshoots! SPRAY SPRAY! ✨

3. Botanical Effects Hydrate

BD077AD1-AC00-4A45-BAD4-679013B8B7DE.JPG

Having a dry skin might be hard sometimes cause we might not know when we have to apply our skin care. The sun might damage our skin nor when we sleep with the air-conditioning on. Surprisingly, a dry skin has to be treated evenly. This product helps day and evening hydration that leaves the skin balanced.

Anyways, you can apply it in either way. Personally, I apply it every night before I sleep to ensure that my skin to keep hydrated even on the next day. Which is absolute, it will help my face to look smooth with my makeup on!

4. Botanical Effects Mask

E66F6FDC-E4AA-41FC-AB0B-50C2D18BC5B8.JPG

I ain’t gonna lie to you but I REALLY REALLY LOVE THIS MASK! It’s white in color and contains mini scrubs that help me to remove my impurities and to revitalizes my skin. Do you know that the particles of your skin might be damaged by your make up? That is why sometimes your skin looks dull after putting so much makeup? This is exactly the sign to remind you that you have to own this mask to keep it shiny although you put makeup everyday!

How to use:

I usually apply this mask on to the whole surface of my skin evenly and leave it for 10-15 minutes. The most satisfying part is when it dries up, you can feel that it absorbs your dead cells on your face, so when you clean it, YOUR SKIN LOOKS SHINY AND BRIGHTER THAN EVUR!

It is definitely a must-have-mask for you, dry-skin girls!

5. Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 Sunscreen

E28B7C00-C64A-493B-A082-2A23FBEBFA35.JPG

Get this sun protection plus a full 12 hours of moisturization! It will help you to keep your skin hydrated and covered during the daytime. I usually apply it after I sprayed my face using the toner that makes it easier for my foundation to be smoothly pigmented on my skin. The texture is a bit creamy, it really protects your skin when you walk under the sun! It is made with 30% SPF to prevent my freckles to grow. So hello sun, my skin is hell-ah protected!

6. Moisturizing Renewing Gel Mask

19CD6E0C-9EAB-4AAD-8AC8-EAA589DDED2E 3.JPG

If we look closer to our skin, we would be able to see the rough pores all around the face. Honestly, since I use this product, I could see how it reduces the appearances of my pores, instantly hydrates, and locks in moisture that smoothen my skin! This is completely amazing how it slowly covers my skin so everytime I put on my foundation, it’s always gonna stay and keep it matte!

To conclude everything, These are definitely the products that I would really recommend you to have,  It doesn’t only help to hydrate nor moisturized my skin but it completely changed my skin to look brighter!

Thank you for trusting me, Mary Kay.

FLAWLASH IS FINALLY OPEN!

Dear Beauties!

Do you ever feel like you can’t wear eyelash extension? Do you feel sad because your eyelashes will become bald? Do you feel like your eyelash grows slow? Well, I guess we have the same problem dear. But don’t worry, I have the solution! I’m truly excited to announce you that Flawlash is finally here for you!

Honestly, I have a short story why I intended to open this shop! Okay, the story actually happened a year ago. I decided to do my eyelash extension in Jakarta. I am not going to mention the store, but it cost me $50 for something that only lasted for a month lol. My holiday was over so I decided to go back to Singapore in July 2018. I remembered I felt tremendously devastated looking at myself in a mirror inside my room realizing that my eyelash became tiny-baby-lashes. It sounds funny but you’ll never know how depressed I was. Since then, I said #HELLOFALSIES and no more eyelash extension. So yeah, falsies have been my best-est friend for one year!

We come with 3 different falsies that are made for daily use!

But this is the glue that I used when I went to USS where I took 3 high-speed rides (the Mummy, the Human, and the Cylon) and my lashes stayed all day long. This is definitely the glue that every girl needs! The stickiness of it will help you to keep your makeup secure without dropping the lashes off! Not to mention, it won’t damage the lashes when it dries up. YOU GOTTA SECURE YOUR LASHES, GIRLS!

BEACH DAY KINDA DAY

Striped Crop top: Zara // Wide Leg Side Slit Pants: Cloth Inc // Sunglasses: SCAPE // Sandals: H&M // Sparkling Necklace: Lovisa

A crop top is completely a must-have item for you who live in a tropical country! For this outfit of the day, I wanted to just keep it simple yet elegant. I wore a striped tank top that I bought from Melbourne last year with this half-cut pants. In addition, to sharpen the edges, I matched my outfit with my easy sandal that can be the best option when I’m lazy to lace shoes. And To keep it fancy, I hang my glasses on my striped crop top and a sparkling necklace onto my neck.

These are the options on how you can still look elegant in summer, without wearing a pair of heels! Hope that this look inspires you, Beauties!

FIRST TIME BEING A MODEL

Hell-ow friends!

I would like to thank all of you who have spent your time to read my previous blog. I feel so grateful that I have successfully reached 1,000 views for my blog posts. It was really because of you all. To be honest with you, I was not confident enough but at least I set a goal for me to achieve.

Thank you for every positive feedback that you guys sent! I reached 1,111 views within 5 days. This is unbelievable #THANKGOD. HONESTLY, I HAVE NEVER BEEN TOO GRATEFUL THAN TO RECEIVE YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT MY NEWEST BLOG! IT WAS AMAZING! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT I REALLY APPRECIATE IT! And since most of you had asked me to write more, so here comes another story…. #FIRSTTIMEBEINGAMODEL Feel curious? Keep on scrolling down!

If you are one of my followers on Instagram, you would’ve known that time when I was involved in the ‘Runway Fashion Show’ on 1st December 2017. It was truly a challenging experience and there were full of life-learning lessons to be absorbed. Obstacles that occurred mostly during rehearsals, the pain during rehearsals. I would say it was all the process!

The Hive - Runway Dec 2017-269.jpg

How did it start?

Firstly, I was invited by one of my seniors in NAFA to join a fashion show. On 23rd November 2017, I was required to come to the venue located at The Hive Kallang to do the first costume fitting with the designer. She brought three beautiful dresses for me to try on. But sadly, I had to hardly accept the fact that I couldn’t fit into any of the dresses because my bust was slightly bigger than models in common. Well sadly, I was there with two other models who could just easily fit into the dresses. I was quite sad and lost motivation, however, I had to remind myself that I have to be grateful for my asset, right? HAHAHA. I actually told myself that it was the last day, but luckily, Amelia-the manager was in charge-shifted me to another fashion designer.

My story didn’t end there, but I still had to attend two rehearsals: 25th November 2017 (Catwalk Rehearsal) and 29th November 2017 (Dry Run). For a fashion show, I guess it was kinda short where each rehearsal that only allows two hours for practicing (how to do catwalk), choreography (the formation), and things to be done on the show day which fell on 1st December 2017!

The Hive - Runway Dec 2017-273.jpg

A Painful Catwalk Practice

Learning how to walk on a catwalk for a fashion runway wasn’t that easy. What challenged me was because I had to stand on the heels, walk straightly, chin-up, and to look natural. Perhaps, it was mainly because I wasn’t used to wearing high heels. There were exactly 40 models who mostly just started their careers as models. Honestly, during rehearsals, I had the worst walk ever. The worst thing was when I could see myself embarrassed once the choreographer showed me as a bad example of how to walk on a catwalk. However, I didn’t stop there. Exactly five days before the show was the most precious days I’ve ever had.

I’m trying to make you imagine how intense I attempted. I could recall forcing myself to walk with my black-legendary-heels-that was provided by my fashion designer. I walked with it every night for 2-3 hours. Have you ever watched Victoria’s Secret fashion shows on Youtube while practice walking in your living room? Well, that was what I did within 5 nights. I could feel the skin on my heels was slowly peeled. Anyways, I believe that every good result requires practices.

“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

This would be best describe what motivated me during my practices. I knew that if I chose to stop, I wouldn’t be able to give the best walk on the runway. I was trusted by the manager and fashion designer so I wouldn’t take this opportunity for granted. This might seem like ‘Karate Kid’ movie, but I was dying just to ensure that I didn’t look stupid on my first runway. Lol.

SHOW DAY!

1st December 2017, I reached the Hive at 11 AM and was called to do makeup at 2 pm. As the runway was sponsored by Mary Kay Singapore, they provided some makeup artists to do our makeup based on the paper provided for every model. As I entered the room, I was so convinced by a pretty lady that was sitting 11 o’clock from me. Finally, we introduced each other and Jesslyn was the one who did my makeup and the result was damn good! She was too kind and she never stops complimenting me. We felt connected and starting then, we became friends.

After makeup, I went to the Japanese hairstylist and changed the costumes to get ready for the show. Shockingly, Joanna-the talented fashion designer-informed me to be the very first model who would come out to open the show! Felt so nervous at first but since I liked my edgy look, I felt so confident and ready to show off!

Two hours before the show starts.

I was wearing black one-piece like a swimsuit, abstract-designed shorts, with a the-same-designed hoodie. Had a short talk with Joanna, and she explained how she had to ask a stranger to define the arts. And what he did was he drew an abstract and it was printed on the costume. The audience has slowly filled in the seats, music has started to play, and I started to walk towards the audience. “Hey! You can do this! You look great! The audience is staring at you cause they admire you! YOU ARE ROCKING THE STAGE EVE!” You know what? I was really satisfied with my first catwalk on the runway. It wasn’t perfect but I was happy because I have given the best that I could!

By being involved in this event, I have learned 5 things:

1. To love yourself and be confident.
You won’t be able to feel confident and grateful if you don’t even love yourself. This may appear repeatedly everywhere, but I just wanna remind you again that: EVERYONE IS UNIQUE. YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT OTHERS DON’T HAVE. If you still don’t know, you have to find it. For me, it’s my interpersonal skills. I have found it and I want to develop it by inspiring and motivating people.

2. Acknowledge that every opportunity gives at least a lesson to be learned.
I could say that I am an adventurous girl. I like to learn new things and this what pushes me to take as many as opportunities offered in Singapore. Know that you will eventually learn at least one thing from every opportunity that you take. This would be the first step for you to learn from your mistakes. Always think “I am here not by a coincidence, but I am here for a reason.”

3. Practice makes perfect.
This is what I really learned from being involved in the fashion show. Don’t ever think that you are perfect! There will always be time for you to practice and to perform better!

4. Good communication skills will broaden your relations and connections.
Communication is really important. I bet you know it. If you challenge yourself to different opportunities, you will find your workplace should be a place for you to #HAVEFUN! The Hive was the place where I had fun and work with new people!

Long story short, during the pre-show, Jesslyn didn’t feel confident with my makeup look. She was afraid that the result wouldn’t be the same as what they expected. However, I was there not just to walk. I motivated her while saying that she was doing great. You know what happened? She did the best makeup look for my group from the same designer. Shockingly, we become good friends because she knew I was the only one who motivated and trusted her.

5. Willingness to learn
As an undergraduate student or for someone who is just about to join the workplace, this would be the most important thing for you to do. Our experiences and skills might not be sufficient for the company, but at least we can show our willingness to learn. Companies seek people who are enthusiastic, willing to learn, and interested in helping the company.

#JASON&EVEGOESTOSINGAPORE

Hi! How are you doing? This time, I would like some my best week spent with the most special person who came all the way from Melbourne to see me. I went to visit JR in Melbourne in June 2017, and JR just visited me in Singapore in February 2018. We have actually planned this trip since December 2017 when he had to cancel going back to our hometown, Jakarta. JR and I have actually been together for almost 4 years and we’ve been on this long-distance-relationship (LDR) for almost 2 years since June 2016. Not to mention that LDR requires lots of effort to put into, it is completely an adventurous journey for us to go through.

Having said that, after meeting him 8 months ago in Melbourne last year, we were tremendously grateful that we are finally able to see each other in Singapore using our own savings. Nobody would ever understand how excited we were seeing each other after almost a year. In fact, it felt so crazy how long we have been counting months, days, and hours just to meet and hug someone you really love the most in a person. Eights months that are worth waiting for.

DAY 1

He stayed in Singapore from 12th February until 20th February. On the first day, I had an exhibition and gallery assignment at 3 pm and I was rushing to the airport right after. He came out from the Changi Arrival Hall at 5:16 pm and that was the exact time when I cried. Do you ever feel like you are speechless because you are too happy and your tears unconsciously come out? That was exactly how I felt. I cried because it felt so wonderful how he still loves me through all the hardships. We were hugging and all I could think was “This isn’t real. Is this real? The guy I could only see through skype. Is this real?” Some people were looking at us but they’ll never know the story behind my tears.

E970ECE3-958D-4437-864C-3569844289FF.JPG

On the second day, we met my friend at NAFA to do a short photoshoot session. In the evening, we had our lovely dinner in Lau Pa Sat. It is a famous street food located in Raffles Quay that is best known for its satay. It is quite pricey as they were mainly targeting white-collar workers who work around there. It is a nice place where you get to enjoy your food while surrounded by the skyscrapers. We spent about $50 for us to be full but it was worth the taste. But not to worry, there are various food stalls where you can get to try various of Singapore’s famous food.

After dinner, we decided to find a place to chill so we ended spending time our night sitting at the side of Marina Bay Sands while looking at beautiful Singapore’s city lights. We weren’t there just to chill, however, we had a deep talk, to share our thoughts, to recreate our commitments and things to be done in order to align our vision that we want to achieve in years from now.

We didn’t have any Valentine’s Day dinner as I had to attend four classes in that day. Jason’s family welcomed me warmly and we went to Orchard to have some sort of a ‘photoshoot session’. I can’t lie but his dad’s photography skill is LIT. Here are some of my favorite photos of us taken by his dad. We actually intended to wear matching outfits every day, so what we did every morning was to inform each other what color that matched #EffortWorthEveryPicture. It was sweet how he wanted to ensure that we have cool photos of our memories, we build our love in this photograph.

Our photoshoot session did not end up in Orchard, as we managed to go to Gardens by the Bay. Anyway, if you prefer to take pictures of nature or floral theme, you should come by to take pictures as many as you want. We did not go inside cause we went there before, however, it is divided into three places including OCBC Skyway, Cloud Forest and Flower Bloom which costs $24 for each. The weather was too hot, but it was such an enjoyable trip in Gardens by the Bay, I really a great experience spent with him and his family.

Me with JR, his sister, and his mom. The photo was taken by the dad.

After Gardens by the bay, probably around 11 pm, we managed to take the last boat from Clarke Quay to enjoy Singapore’s iconic cityscape. It costs $25 for each of us to go around Clarke Quay-Esplanade-Marina Bay Sands roughly for 45 minutes. It was a great experience especially if you go with your family and friends. Interestingly, the boat is provided a speaker that clearly explained the history behind every building that we passed through. So, if you are curious about Singapore’s architecture, the Boat Quay is definitely something you should experience! Additionally, you will have to see Singapore’s skyscrapers in a closer look from a different perspective!

Sunday Funday! We went to IFGF church in the morning and ate lunch with eight of my friends at Fish and Co at Vivocity. After lunch, we took a tram to Sentosa island. It was a short yet a fun trip. There are three ways to get there: Take a walk (Free), bus ($1), or tram ($4). Again, Philip followed us to take pictures. Guess who was prepared for the ‘pre-wedding’ HAHAHA but, honestly, all of the results were just higher than our expectation, we really really really love it.

There goes another fun day we spent at Sentosa Island. We left house at 10 AM and rushed to Universal Studio Singapore. Luckily, USS was not really crowded so we managed to experience 7 different rides in a day. Anyway, I purchased the ticket which cost $68 each through online. It is cheaper than if you buy it on the spot that will cost you $74. I could say this was the best part of our trip. We really enjoyed every second that we had. Luckily none of us were scared of height haha! However, I found it sweet when he kept on telling that I still look pretty even when I sweat plus he was kinda angry as I preferred to take the rides instead of eating. (Didn’t want to waste my time lol) #AWW But honestly, thanks to JR for the effort to truly understand me and to always make me feel secure.

#BESTEXPERIENCEintheUSS would be when we were screaming and looking at each other while riding the Cylon, the scariest ride in USS. Our feet were hanging and we were twisted and turned upside down for about five times. We both screamed out our names and laughed while looking at each other expressions. HAHA funny right. It was truly insane yet really memorable! And what is funny was our mouth went dry after the ride.

Sadly, we didn’t take many photos because too bad, my friend Philip wasn’t with us. Lol. BUT YEAY! we managed to ask strangers a favor to help us take pictures. Well, the results were not too bad. Anyways, our date to USS was extremely fun and we truly enjoyed every second that we had to wait there. Thanks, USS, you’ve been great! We will absolutely come back!

Our day didn’t end at USS but we were actually rushing from Vivocity to go back home to change clothes for our first fine dining at Level 33, the best rooftop bar we have gone so far. It was our best dinner ever where we were laughing at each other knowing the fact that we couldn’t eat the European food we ordered. It was Ploughman’s Board, Octopus Spinach, and French Fries that were served on our table. It was funny how we had to fake every time the waitress went to our table to ask whether the food was fair, cause it was just not for us.

20th February – Last day of our trip. It was packed as we had to rush to the airport by 5 pm. We were actually planning to buy same hoodies which at the end, we couldn’t find it. So we went to Uniqlo Somerset (last minute) and found the striped cardigan that I have been looking for. Coincidentally it came with two similar designs available in both men and women sections. So, we went to the fitting room to try on for a minute and directly brought it to the cashier. YEAY! What matchy-catchy clothes we have. (It was just 4 hours before the flight)

We were rushing back home to bring Jason’s luggage for 10 minutes, took grab to NAFA for my lighting and sound assignment and we rushed to the airport.

Now, the drama begins. We were wearing the clothes we just purposely bought for photo shoots while killing our time until 6:30 pm (an hour before his flight). We were not sad until the time when before he went inside for immigration. It was the last he hugged me tightly and I started sobbing. I honestly tried not to but realizing that we will be split was the worst feeling ever. Could you imagine when you finally got to spend only a week with your loved one and you realized that it will be the last time of you seeing each other? I tried not to cry but I just felt like I am losing a best friend, a brother, and a boyfriend. The sad thing is we don’t even know when we are going to meet again, whether it’s eight, nine months, or a year after. We’ve got no idea. All we have to do is just holding to our commitments and communicating through Skype.

*Ps: It was exactly the plane that Jason was going to fly on.

Thanks for the memories in Singapore, it was definitely a week to remember. The feeling of me being loved, appreciated and cared by someone I love the most was the best feeling I could ever ask for. I hope to see you soon, JR. #BacktoLDR

Long distance relationship doesn’t always make us stronger. But at the end, all the distance, time and effort that we both sacrificed are gonna be worth it everytime we meet each other. In fact, we truly appreciated every second that we had in Singapore. We promised not to let any of us down, we really just want to spend our tim together and to show our love towards each other. And it is worth all the distance we will have to go through.

We didn’t hug. We cried.

We are the perfect couple. We’re just not in the perfect situation.

June 8th – July 5th, 2017

I remembered the moment I cried and hugged him for the very first time. Imagine if you are meeting your boyfriend in a person after being separated by distance. Let me tell you how insane it was. I could feel my body shaking at Melbourne Airport while reminding myself that it was not a dream. It was real. It was him who I have been missing for months.

It was winter in Melbourne and I tried so hard to adapt my body to its temperature that rose up and down between 7-13 degrees. We went to various famous places we planned months before. It was my second time visiting Melbourne and I stayed there for almost a month, but I have to tell you that one-month-trip has never been enough cause Melbourne has so much to offer in making your memories memorable. The people, culture, hype, food, beaches, and buildings made it feels really cozy. Melbourne has certain aesthetic architectural designs where the photos of my winter outfits were taken there. Get inspired by clicking here.

Being grateful was the only feeling we had. We truly felt our love growing after all nights we could only spend through skype. I guess it was our first one-month of no texting as we totally spend our time together. Having our breakfast, lunch, and dinner together or cooking on the day after we spent too much money shopping. Lol.

Melbourne was so wonderful and so our feelings. I can barely able to express it through words, but you can see from our faces on each of the photos that we took there. We shared how hard it was during most of our nights when we weren’t able to meet in a person. Besides, we also got to talk about our commitments for the future, more or less about things to do and not to do. Therefore, our time spent was more into private discussions on how to maintain our relationship instead of having fun. *Notes: since it was mostly just the two of us, we usually asked every stranger who passed by to take a picture of us. I owe all the credits to yall.
